Introduction: The Golden Age

Long ago in the lands of Azeroth, there were five guilds of power throughout the land. Each guild was part of The Grand Alliance, consisting of Night Elves, Men, Dwarves, and Gnomes. Their mission was to defend the Alliance from the savage Horde, consisting of Orcs, Trolls, Tauren, and the Forsaken Undead.

The First Guild, Denial, held the utmost power and was the head guild of the Alliance, this guild maintained the capital cities of the Alliance.
The Second, Veritas, watched over the Blasted Lands, guarding the Dark Portal, from falling into of the hands of the Horde.
The Third, Virulent Vanguard, patrolled the far off lands of Kalimdor, watching over the Ashenvale forest.
The Fourth, Genesis, protected the Hillsbrad foothills from Undead invasion.
And The Fifth, The Gladiators, watched over the port cities of Theramore and Menethil Harbor.

For years these guilds protected their Alliance from the Horde, but it was not always that way. In the deserts of Silithus, near the Ruins of Ahn Qiraj, the Horde amassed into an army, large enough to challenge the five guilds of power. Growing in strength, the Horde forces banded together and formed their own guilds, Liquid Reality, and Grim Riders. Then the Horde marched to Azshara, under the control of the young guild, Denial.

The battle was long and bloody though, rising weak, but victorious was Denial. Meese, the leader of Denial, knowing it was only a matter of time before the Horde regrouped in Silithus, Meese decided that it would be prudent to march for Silithus as soon as possible. However, Denial was weak, and he knew that Denial could not take on the Horde alone. For days Meese pondered what the solution may be until he came up with a plan. He would summon together any guild willing to aid him against the Horde and unite them. Sending Ambassadors, Meese waited for months for a reply from any guild. Finally the Ambassadors returned from their long journey. Four of the ten brought with them replies of aid. These four were, Veritas, Genesis, Virulent Vanguard, and The Gladiators. Banding together, the five guilds marched for Silithus and confronted Liquid Reality for a final battle.

Finally after weeks of battle Liquid Reality fell. The lands were once again safe and so the guilds put together a security system to ensure that nothing like this could ever happen again.

Together these guilds maintained peace throughout the land.
Until the chaos of the Burning Legion fell upon them....

Book 1: The Fall

Chapter 1: The Messenger

Two dark figures walked down the streets of Theramore, maintaining the utmost silence. It was late into the night, all that could be seen were the faint glow of the taller figures eyes. The pair progressed along the road and halted at the entrance to a tower. The two paused and looked at each other, hesitant. Then the shorter one knocked on the door.

"Enter!" said a sharp voice.

With that the pair walked in.

"Sir." said both of the figures as they bowed, one a Night Elf, the other Human.

"Ah, I see, you've returned. So tell me, What news from Genesis, have they agreed to assist us in patrolling the borders between Dustwallow Marsh and the Barrens?"

Again the two exchanged glances. The Human, Buddizzle, then spoke.

"Sir, there was an attack, Orcs, hundreds of them stormed us, the ambassador from Genesis was killed. Our border patrol camp has fallen."

The man, Farimir swore loudly.

"How did this happen? Why weren't we warned by Genesis? Surely they would have known of a movement this large!"

"We don't know sir, there was chaos all over, us and others barely escaped with our lives."

"Why did you and those others not stay and defend the border? Why did you let it fall into the hands of the enemy so easily?"

"Sir! There were too many, now is not the time to argue, we must stage a defense, the Orcs will soon march for Theramore" said the Night Elf, Cyberror

"I don't give a damn how many of them there were, you will march back to the damn camp and you will-
Suddenly a violent explosion shook the earth. The next few moments consisted of dead silence.

"What in the hell was that!?" shouted Farimir

Then the streets of Theramore filled with members of The Gladiators, running outside to see what had happened. The inhabitants of the tower soon ran out themselves.

"Sir what was that?" shouted a man
"By the beard of King Magni himself, what the hell is happening?" shouted a Dwarf

The next thirty minutes consisted of shouts like these until finally Farimir could calm them.

"Alright, since it seems nobody has any idea what that was, lets all shutup and try to figure it out. Sprocketbolt, what can you gather from all of this?"

"Hmmm, the sound seems to have originated in the west, towards Darnassus, however my devices have also measured massive tremors in the east, towards Stormwind City." said a Gnomish Engineer.

"Alright, Braffe, status report."

"Aye, There appears to be only minimal damage to the City, and no one seems to have been injured, but quite a few have been shaken." said a stout Dwarf

"Good, now lets-

"Orcs! Orcs! Orcs from the West!" shouted a man whom appeared to have been running a long distance, his clothing was tattered and worn.

"What? What did he say?" asked Farimir

The man approached Farimir and then said "I have journeyed all the way from Ashenvale, we were attacked Orcs all over, I ran for my life across the Barrens and through Dustwallow Marsh, they are following me."

"Calm down, what happened to the others?" said Farimir

"Others?" said the man weakly.

"Surely you were with other members of Genesis, that is where they patrol after all. Perhaps we can send a messenger by Gryphon to ask for aid."

"There will be no aid, it's over Genesis has fallen." with that the man inhaled his last breath.
