Monthly Popularity Contest Discontinued

At the end of each month, the tale with the most unique visitors, as determined by our in-house tracking system, will receive the monthly popularity award.

Reward:
10 GT Credits to be spent on our reward list. You can win consecutive months and build up credits.

To qualify for the Monthly Most Popular Tale:
1. The author must be a registered member and personally submit their work. Moderator published pieces will not be considered. EXCEPTION: All content from the original site qualifies, ie. published prior to April 18, 2008.
2. Not an offsite blog
3. Winner must have logged into GamerTales.com at least once in the qualifying month.

Each month our tracking software will determine the tale with the most unique visits. The winning author’s credit balance will be reflected below. Members are able to spend those credits on various rewards. Adding a catchy description, images, and promoting your published work hosted at GamerTales.com on other sites and through word of mouth is an excellent way to drive visitors to your tale. In addition, holding a monthly and all time top viewed position, we will grant a link to your story on the awards page further increasing the tale’s exposure. Good Luck Everyone!

Editor TIPS for winning
We can track to an extent where visitors come from when arriving on GamerTales.com. Here are some tactics we’ve noticed our contest winners using that work…

Creating a URL alias during submissions and using it to promote your tale
Use of their tale’s link in gaming forums and email signatures
Posting a link within other communities
Submitting their GamerTales story link to official and other related gaming sites
Creating an appealing description and cover image to entice viewers through the teaser
Adding Fan Art or screenshots
Commenting about their tale on video gaming blogs
Frequent updates and comments dialog
Plugging your tale link anywhere you can
Sort of a catch 22, but winning contests
